Helping Ugandan Coffee Farmers to Reinvest More into Their Own Communities

Your donations support projects that allow farmers to further process their harvest.  By further processing their harvest before selling, farmers increase profits, providing them more funds for current and future development work in their own communities.

Donor FAQs

Why is Agvaluad a 501(c)(3) Public Charity?

Agvaluad is a 501(c)(3) so that qualifying donations may be deducted on Federal Income Tax Returns.  Donations to public charities generally enjoy higher AGI deduction limits than donations to foundations.

How can I validate that  Agvaluad is a 501(c)(3)?

You may search for us here https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/search-for-tax-exempt-organizations by the name agvaluad or by the EIN 412346776

What is the best way to donate from my IRA?

Instead of withdrawing funds in the form of a required minimum distribution (RMD) you may want to consider a qualified charitable distribution (QCD).  QCDs can count toward your RMD.  See this explanation from Fidelity https://www.fidelitycharitable.org/guidance/philanthropy/qualified-charitable-distribution.html

Is Agvaluad listed as a charity for donor advised funds (DAFs)

We have already received donations via DAFs, however, that does not mean that we are listed with all investment firms that offer donor advised funds.  If we are not listed with yours, let us know, so we can help.

How much of my donation goes toward projects?

100% of donations will go toward projects that expand the agricultural value chain for local farmers.  Funds will be channeled through LCD SACCO, who will lend funds to projects.  As loans are paid back, the funds become available for future projects.  AgValuAd will provide project management and financial oversight.
